At least five people have been injured in a clash between Chhatra League and Jubo Dal activists over a rally organized by the BNP's associate bodies.
The clash erupted near Chittagong College in the Chawkbazar area at around 3:30pm on Wednesday.
Sayem, one of the injured Jubo Dal activists, claimed their bus was on the way to the rally when a group of Chattra League activists attacked the vehicle and assaulted them.
“Then a chase and counter-chase took place,” he said.
Manjur Quader, officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar police station, said police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Earlier, Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal and Swechchasebak Dal, affiliates of the BNP, organized the rally at the Kazi Deuri intersection.
