Law Minister Anisul Huq has said US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas discussed Bangladesh's labour law in his meeting with the minister and Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman.
“The United States had some comments on Bangladesh's labour law. He (Peter Haas) wanted to know the statement of the Bangladesh government about that and this discussion will continue,” said the minister following Tuesday's meeting.
Peter Haas went to the office of Salman F Rahman in the morning. The law minister and a director general of the foreign ministry were present at the meeting.
Different sources said the prime minister will go to Geneva this month to attend the conference of the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Before the trip, the US wanted to know the government's stance on the Labour Act.
