In the national budget for the 2023-2024 fiscal year, Tk4,527 crore has been allocated for the Armed Forces Division.
This money will be spent on various activities including the deployment of armed forces in wars, UN missions, natural calamities, and assisting the civil administration in national needs.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Thursday made the announcement while unveiling a Tk7,61,785 crore proposed national budget for the 2023–24 fiscal year in the national parliament.
The minister also said that training and operational activities of the armed forces at home and abroad will be planned, controlled and coordinated.
The proposed budget will be 15.2% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
