In the proposed budget for the 2023-24 financial year, it is proposed to increase the price of towel tissue, toilet tissue and face tissue.
The finance minister read out the proposals for the 2023-2024 fiscal year's budget, amounting to Tk7,61,785 crore, in parliament on Thursday.
He said: “We have proposed to fix 7.5% VAT instead of 5% for kitchen towel (24-26GSM), toilet tissue (18-24GSM), napkin tissue (20-24GSM), facial tissue/pocket tissue (12-16GSM), hand towel/paper towel/clinical bed sheet.”
