The government has taken an initiative to build four satellite cities around the capital, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said on Thursday.
In his budget speech, the minister added that the government also has plans to build satellite cities on both sides of the Padma Bridge while a 142-storey building named Iconic Tower will be built in Purbachal area.
Moreover, a project to build infrastructure for the homeless and destitute in Sirajganj and Comilla is underway. It will benefit around 36,000 poor people, the minister said.
