The Bangladesh House in the Netherlands hosted an exclusive saree pageant for the Ambassadors' Spouse Association (ASA).
Sazia Ahmed, the wife of the Ambassador of Bangladesh in the Netherlands Riaz Hamidullah, , hosted the gathering on May 22.
The magnificent saree pageant was accompanied by a captivating showcase of the elements that define the rich Bangladeshi culture, reports The Diplomat, an international online news magazine.
The entrance hall of the residence displayed a vibrant collection of sarees, each representing different styles of Bangladesh.
The gathering additionally showcased different kinds of sarees from Sazia Ahmed's collection, providing guests with the unique opportunity to not only admire but also feel the fabrics.
Sazia Ahmed also provided in-depth insights into the art of saree weaving, unraveling the intricate process, diverse fabric textures, and combinations.
She also talked about Unesco recognizing Bangladeshi Jamdani weaving as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
