As Cyclone Mocha crossed the Bangladesh coast and made landfall in Myanmar, normal operations of the port have resumed.
The Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) downgraded its own alert level following the announcement of lowering the emergency signal.
Now the dock workers are waiting for the ships to arrive at the jetty to unload goods.
Chittagong Port Authority Secretary Omar Farooq said: "The local warning signal No 3 has been issued as the danger signal in the seaports has been lowered.
"Consequently, we have withdrawn our Alert-4 and issued Alert-1 in accordance with local alert number 3," he added.
He said: "We have not faced any damage due to Cyclone Mocha. The port is now open for operations. We will supply the goods if anyone is interested. However, when the ships throng the jetty on Monday at high tide, the goods will be unloaded. Other regular work has started as per routine."
