The sky will be cloudy across Bangladesh once Cyclone Mocha crosses the coast and will cause rain in Dhaka and Sylhet on Sunday, a meteorologist has said.
Meteorologist Shahinul Islam said the bulk and centre of the storm would pass over Myanmar and the rest would lash Cox's Bazar coast.
Meanwhile, met office chief Md Azizur Rahman said that by Monday, the clouds would spread almost all over the country, and at that time the amount of rainfall might increase in both Dhaka and Sylhet.
Heavy (44-88mm) to very heavy (289mm) rain may occur in Chittagong, Sylhet and Barisal divisions under the influence of the cyclone, and the Bangladesh Meteorological Department fears that there might be landslides in the hilly areas of Cox's Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Chittagong due to the downpour.
