Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Monday said that the new curriculum's eighth and ninth grade textbook is currently being written.
She made this statement after exchanging Eid greetings with officials and employees of the ministry at the secretariat on Monday.
"In due course, the students will get the books. Instructions have also been given to the teachers and related parties for the implementation of the curriculum next year. The training of the teachers will continue," the education minister said.
Regarding the mistakes in the textbooks, the education minister said: "Many people have talked about the quality of the textbooks. Now everyone is aware. Hopefully, there will be no major mistakes. We will try to provide accurate textbooks. Next year, the eighth and ninth grade textbooks will go as an experimental version."
Regarding the training of teachers, Dipu Moni said: "Teacher training will continue. Not all teachers are in the same standard. There are many teachers who have mastered the new curriculum. They are doing well. And some teachers have not caught up so well or are not used to it, they may need more time.”
The students have no problem with the new curriculum, they have understood it well, she also added.
Education minister went to the ministry on Monday afternoon after the Eid vacation. The minister went to Deputy Minister Barrister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury's room due to the ongoing renovation work in her own office.
After exchanging Eid greetings with the deputy minister, she exchanged greetings with the officers and employees present there.
She does official work for about an hour in the deputy minister's room.
