Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday instructed her party members to look for the beneficiaries who got supports from various government projects, apart from campaigning during the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday.
She made this remark at a video call on Wednesday after a joint meeting at Dhanmondi office of Awami League.
Various types of allowances are being provided to the people of the country including women, men, children and the elderly persons through numerous schemes of the government.
She asked the party men to inquire whether these allowances are being received directly by the beneficiaries or not.
Leaders who attended the meeting said that Awami League President Sheikh Hasina instructed the leaders and activists to stand by the helpless people on the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
She urged all to highlight the development activities of the government on the occasion of the upcoming general elections.
She called upon Awami League men across the country to remain vigilant for arson attacks of BNP-Jamaat alongside making the countrymen aware of such arson attacks.
While talking to Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap over the mobile phone, she also asked the party leaders to plant trees for developing sound environment in the country.
Apart from giving instruction, she exchanged Eid greetings with AL leaders and activists and wished everyone a safe journey.
Earlier, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader and senior leaders of the ruling party held a joint meeting with top leaders of its associate bodies.
In the meeting, Awami league general secretary cautioned the ruling party activists and said: “Vested quarters want to make the political situation unstable in the country.”
He suggested party leaders be vigilant so that arson attack cannot take place in the country to foil the next national parliament election.
Awami League presidium member Matia Chowdhury, Kazi Jafrullah, Faruk Khan, Shajahan Khan, Mofazzel Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Kamrul Islam, Mostofa Jalala Mohiuddin, Jahangir Kabir Nanaok, Simin Hossain Rimi, Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, among others, were present in the meeting.
