Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Monday said that an investigation committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs is looking into whether the frequent incidents of fire are political sabotage.
The minister said that the nine-member investigation committee led by Md Saiful Islam, additional secretary of the Security Services Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs, will submit its report soon.

Recently, two days after the incident of Bangabazar fire in the capital, the Ministry of Home Affairs convened Md Saiful Islam and formed the nine-member investigation committee. The same committee will investigate subsequent and earlier fire incidents.
Mehedi Hasan/Dhaka TribuneThe investigation committee will find out the source and cause of the fire, identify those involved in the unintended attack on the head office of the fire service and civil defence department and its staff while extinguishing the fire. At the same time, the committee will formulate recommendations to prevent such fire accidents.
