The Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (Bajus) announced a reduction in gold prices by Tk1,983 per bhori on Monday, following a record increase.
The price cut comes as a result of a decline in the local market value of pure gold, according to a Bajus press release.
Starting Tuesday, the price of 22-carat gold will be Tk97,161 per bhori, down from Tk99,144.
In addition, 21-carat gold will now cost Tk92,697 per bhori, while the price of 18-carat gold has dropped to Tk79,463 per bhori.
On April 2, Bajus hiked prices of gold for the last time.
