After 13 years of hanging, the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB), is moving forward with the construction of a multi-storey building for its headquarters on its land in Rajarbagh

The responsibility was given to the Public Works Department in 2010 for the construction of the building, said a press release.

Although the work of constructing ICB's building was supposed to be done by Motijheel Public Works Department, the Chief Engineer Mohammad Shamim Akhtar has taken the initiative to give the responsibility to the Executive Engineer of Dhaka Public Works Department-1 Atiqul Islam for the speedy implementation of the work.

The Public Works Department's former chief engineer's inadequate supervision and preference for his division's engineer to carry out the task resulted in incompetence and inefficiency among the Motijheel Public Works Department officials, reads the press release.

As result, the current Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department Mohammad Shamim Akhtar assigned the task to another department.
