Light to moderate rainfall that began Wednesday morning might persist till April 2, said Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Besides, the Met office is also predicting the commencement of nor'wester.
Meteorologist Bajlur Rashid said that the rain will increase from today (Wednesday). Nor'wester will flow over many areas. But it will not rain continuously. Intermittent moderate to heavy rains may occur in different parts of the country.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Chittagong divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country," said a Met office release.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
On Wednesday, the country's minimum temperature was recorded at 16.8 degree Celsius at Tetulia while maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 36.0 degree Celsius at Rajshahi.
The sunset in Dhaka on Wednesday would be at 6:13pm while Thursday's sunrise at 5:53am.
