The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against five people, including the former manager of NCC Bank Narsingdi branch, on the charge of embezzling over Tk1.60 crore of customers.
Mozahar Ali, deputy director of ACC's Gazipur integrated district office, filed the case as the plaintiff on Monday.
Saiduzzaman, assistant director of the office, recorded the case.
The accused in the case are - Nasiruddin Ahmed, son of Abdur Rahman of Kashipur village of Madhabdi upazila of Narsingdi and former manager of NCC Bank Narsingdi branch, Farhad Hossain son of Motahar Hossain of Rathkhola village of Shariatpur Sadar upazila and former deputy manager (suspended) of the branch, Jahangir Alam, son of Bazler Rahman of Dakhsin Noyapur village in Daganbhuiyan Upazila in Feni district, former executive officer of that branch (currently in Madhabdi branch), Saifur Rahman, son of Laich Uddin of Sonakar village of Bormi union of Gazipur's Sreepur upazila and former computer operator of the branch and Nazmul Islam, son of Sirajul Islam, resident of Hatubhanga village in Narsingdi's Raipur upazila and former officer of the branch (currently at Narayanganj branch).
ACC Deputy Director Mozahar Ali said that the accused people embezzled Tk1,60,88,000 from the bank through fraud, forgery, breach of trust and abuse of power with the collusion of each other.
