A course on passenger service and facilitation in civil aviation has been launched on Wednesday to ensure the improvement of passenger service and international quality service at all international airports of the country including Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority Bangladesh Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman launched the course at the conference room of the Civil Aviation Academy in Dhaka.
A total of 1,500 members of 56 different organizations working at the airports under the supervision of the Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) will participate in this course.
In the first phase, a total of 30 employees of foreign airlines including Customs, Immigration, APBN, Airport Health, National Intelligence Security Agency, AVSEC, and Biman Bangladesh Airlines working at Dhaka Airport will participate in the course. Participants in this course will be awarded a medal and certificate bearing the title “Honourable Passenger First” as a symbol of pride.
Bangla TribunePrasanta Kumar Chakraborty, director of Civil Aviation Academy, gave a welcome speech stressing on creating a friendly and cooperative environment among all the organizations working at the airport, ensuring smooth and comfortable air travel of the passengers.
Group Captain Mohammad Kamrul Islam, Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, said that if this course is conducted under the supervision of experienced trainers under the auspices of CAAB according to the standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), there will be a radical change in the airport's passenger services.
Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority Bangladesh Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman said the course will play an important role as part of the implementation of the National Cleanliness Strategy and in addressing the chronic passenger harassment at airports. Conducting this course has been made mandatory for the members of every organization working at all airports in Bangladesh.
CAAB will keep conducting this course on priority basis to ensure safe, pleasant and international standards of passenger journey, he added.
