Noted Bangladeshi singer Kumar Bishwajit has said the condition of his son, Nibir Kumar, who sustained critical injuries in a recent road accident in Canada, has improved,
He is undergoing treatment in a local hospital in Toronto following the road crash in Ontario on Monday.
The singer flew out to Canada on Tuesday night after receiving the news of the accident.
He later gave information about his son's condition by sending messages to several people in the music industry of the country.
On Thursday morning, President of Gitikobi Sangha Shahid Mahmud Jangi said on social media: "Bishwajit said Nibir is better than before. Alhamdulillah.”
Musician Kishore Das also gave the same news. Kumar Bishwajit had also talked to him. Based on that, Kishore said: "The condition of Nibir is improving. By the infinite mercy of the great creator, Nibir's Condition is better at this moment than yesterday. I talked to Nibir's uncle Abhijit Da and his father Kumar Bishwajit sir. There will be a surgery in the next six hours.”
Seeking prayers for Nibir and urging people not to spread rumours, Kishore said: “May God bring him back to his parents in good health. Everyone keep him in your blessings and prayers. It is requested that no one spread confusion with any wrong information in this regard.”
Nibir Kumar, the only son of the singer, lives in Canada for his study. He received serious injuries in the accident that took place on Highway 427 southbound ramp to Dundas Street West in Ontario on Monday night.
Three Bangladeshi students were killed in the accident.
The deceased students are Shahriar Khan, Angela Baroi and Arian Deepta.
They were all living in Toronto on study permits from Bangladesh, said Ontario Provincial Police in a tweet.
According to the police, Nibir Kumar was driving the car involved in the accident. The rest were passengers. Two died on the spot while another died after being taken to hospital.
