A delegation of Diabetic Association of Bangladesh (BADAS) on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence, Ganabhaban, in Dhaka.
The delegation included BADAS President National Professor AK Azad Khan, Vice President Dr Sarwar Ali, Secretary General Md Sayef Uddin, Joint Secretary General Professor Rashid-E-Mahbub and National Council Member National Prof Mahmud Hasan, Prime Minister's Assistant Press Secretary MM Emrul Kayas told BSS.
The BADAS leaders, on behalf of their association, congratulated the prime minister on being made Global Ambassador of Diabetes recently by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF).
They told the prime minister that if BADAS gets the opportunity, it can play a role in creating international quality doctors and nurses, and generate employment opportunities for them in foreign countries.
They also apprised the premier of BADAS' online healthcare program and launching of 300 digital healthcare centres with the help of the government as well as an initiative of linking up those centres with the government's community health centres.
In this connection, the prime minister assured them that the ministries concerned will provide assistance to them.
The prime minister's personal physician, Dr ABM Abdullah, was present.
