Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Thursday said instructions will be given to the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) so it submits its probe report in the journalist couple Sagar-Runi murder case quickly.
"We also want the mystery of this murder case to unfold quickly," he told journalists after receiving a memorandum from leaders of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) at his ministry office.
DRU leaders, including President Mursalin Nomani, General Secretary Hasan Sohel, Office Secretary Kawser Azam, Executive Member Ismail Hossain Russel, and senior members of the organization Shyamal Sarker, Fasih Uddin Mahtab, Motahar Hossain, Mehedy Azad Masum and Alamgir Swapan, gave the memorandum to the minister demanding a speedy trial in the Sagar-Runi murder case.
The minister said the government is also trying to crack the mystery of the case, adding: "I also told the journalist leaders that if you have any information about the Sagar-Runi murder, let us know, and we will also look into it seriously."
"I am sending the memorandum of DRU to the director general of RAB right now for submitting the report quickly," he added.
