However, he said he will not return the car

Update : 09 Feb 2023, 02:41 PM

Ashraful Hossen Alom, better known as Hero Alom, has said that he is now in trouble with a car that he received as a gift from Habiganj teacher M Mukhlishur Rahman.

He received the gift while visiting Narpati village of Chunarughat upazila in Habigang Tuesday afternoon.

Hero Alam decided to use the car as an ambulance for patients in times of emergency.

Amid this, Hero Alam claimed on Thursday morning that he was not informed before getting the car as present that there was due tax for the car. There is also no fitness for the vehicle.

Hero Alam said that during the handing over of the car in Habiganj, he did not get a chance to see the documents properly due to the crowd of people.

But he said that he will not return the car.

He said: “I will not return the gift car, no matter how complicated the documents of the car may be. If I return the car, it will be humiliating for the teacher. Since I have declared the car to turn into an ambulance, I am now willing to pay whatever it takes to make the car legal on roads."

Mentioning that he will apply to BRTA for waiver of the dues of the car, Hero Alam said that he will take the car to a workshop in Bogra within two days and will start the work of transforming it into an ambulance.

Through this the activities of Hero Alam Foundation will be started, he added.

According to the BRTA website, the number of the gifted car is Dhaka Metro-Cha-51-4101.

The 1,800 cc car's tax token expired on March 18, 2013 and fitness expired on July 15, 2013.

However, there is no road permit information on the website.

According to online information, a fee of Tk4.39 will be required to renew the car.

On January 31, ahead of the by-election for Bogra-4 and Bogra-6 constituencies, the headmaster of Haji Abdul Jabbar GL Academy and High School of Habiganj's Chunarughat upazila, M Mukhlishur Rahman, went live on his Facebook page and expressed his desire to gift a car to Hero Alom.

After posting several other videos, Hero Alom finally contacted the teacher and went to meet him.

For the past few days, various discussions and criticisms have been going on in social media.

This time, there was new discussion about the lack of validity of car documents.

Mukhlishur Rahman said that he bought the car in 2018. The tax for the car was submitted on March 18, 2013. The fitness was expired on July 15 in the same year.
