Gazipur Metropolitan Jubo Mahila League organizing secretary Sultana Lata Sobha has been relieved from the party post as the video of her drug taking went viral on social media.
Advocate Ayesha Akhtar, president of the Gazipur metropolitan unit, confirmed the matter on Monday.
Ayesha Akhtar said that for the past few days, a video of Sobha consuming drugs has been circulated in various media including social media.
“This has damaged the discipline and image of our party. Therefore, as per the central decision, Shobha has been relieved from the post of organizational secretary of Gazipur Metropolitan Jubo Mahila League due to breaching party discipline,” she said.
On Sunday, Gazipur Metropolitan Jubo Mahila League President Advocate Ayesha Akhter and General Secretary Anwara Sarkar Anu jointly signed the letter.
On Saturday, a criticism sparked in the district as the video of Sobha taking drugs went viral on social media.
