Planning Minister MA Mannan on Wednesday said that the government has been working to implement a master plan on River Teesta.
Terming Teesta as an important issue, he said that the Teesta issue always comes when there is any discussion with India.
"The government has many plans regarding the rivers, water and soil. Discussions are being held with India time and again on the Teesta master plan," he said.
Mannan also said that the government has been trying its best to implement the master plan on Teesta River.
The planning minister said this while addressing the silver jubilee celebration of Mostafihat Girls High School as the chief guest in Lalmonirhat today.
Mentioning that the present government has been working tirelessly to ensure women's empowerment and also development of the women folk, he said that the females are now moving ahead keeping pace with the males.
In this connection, Mannan mentioned that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was the first passenger of the metro rail today while its driver was also a female.
Presided over by Mostafihat Girls High School managing committee president Aminul Islam, district Awami League President Motahar Hossain, MP, general secretary Adv Motiar Rahman, deputy commissioner Mohammad Ullah, police super Saiful Islam and Gokunda Union Parishad chairman Abdur Rashid Sarker Toton spoke, among others, on the occasion.
