A security drill was carried out at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday morning.
The drill was organized and led by the airport executive director to create awareness about what should be done if a bomb threat is received by the airport.
The drill had been conducted according to security protocols, Executive Director Group Captain Kamrul Islam said.
"The security drill began at 10:50am and ended at 11:45am. It was held in collaboration with the airport's multiple security agencies and stakeholders," Kamrul Islam added.
He said passengers had not been inconvenienced and flight operations had not been disrupted.
According to airport security officials, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has issued a rule to conduct drills every two years on how to tackle such situations at international airports.
Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md Mofidur Rahman said such drills would be carried out at all international airports to ensure safety and security.
