Traffic movement on Tangail's Bangabandhu Bridge was disrupted early on Sunday, due to dense fog.
A 14km tailback was created, as the bridge's toll collection was suspended for over three hours, from 4:30am to 8am.
Bridge authorities and the traffic control room said that the operations were suspended to avoid accidents on the bridge, as it was difficult to see beyond 40 metres due to the dense fog.
Dhaka TribuneAhsan Masud Bappi, executive engineer of Bangabandhu Bridge, said toll collection resumed after the fog cleared.
In this regard, Shafiqul Islam, OC of Bangabandhu Bridge East police station said a long tailback was reported as authorities suspended toll collection from both sides of the bridge on Sunday morning.
“The vehicular movement resumed after 8am,” he added.
