Bangladesh Jewelers Samity (Bajus) has hiked up gold prices by Tk7,698.
Starting Sunday, per bhori of 22-carat gold will cost Tk91,912 which was Tk84,214 till Sunday.
Bajus Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee Chairman, MA Hannan Azad disclosed this information in a press release on Saturday.
According to the press release, acidic gold is now more expensive on the local market. Bajus has therefore set the new price of gold after taking everything into account.
According to the new prices, each bhori of 21-carat gold will cost Tk83,292, 18-carat Tk71,383 and traditional gold will be Tk59,886 per bhori.
However, the prices of silver will remain unchanged.
Currently, each vori of 22-carat silver costs Tk1,516, 21-carat Tk1,435, 18-carat Tk1,225 and traditional silver Tk933 per bhori.
