Additional Commissioner of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Mohammad Harunur Rashid, has said that Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) student Fardin Noor Parash was not killed in Narayanganj's Chanpara.
“We don't think Fardin was killed in Chanpara. We're going to analyze CCTV footage,” said Harun.
The police officer said this while talking to journalists on Thursday.
Harun informed that Fardin's last tracked location was in Dhaka's Jatrabari.
“Fardin went inside a human hauler. Three-four men in t-shirts accompanied him. The human hauler went towards Tarabo Bishwa Road in Narayanganj. We're looking for the driver of the vehicle and the people who were accompanying Fardin,” he said.
Harun added that it would have been impossible for Fardin to reach Chanpara from Jatrabari that night, considering the time he was murdered.
“Fardin left Jatrabari around 2:15am and was killed around 2:30am. It's not possible to reach Chanpara from Jatrabari within 15 minutes. That's why we're suspecting that the murder happened somewhere else,” added Harun.
