Dengue tests at government hospitals would be charged Tk100 while Tk300 would be charged at private hospitals.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque said this after an event at National Institute of Mental Health and Hospital in Dhaka on Sunday.
He said: “We have given instructions to charge a fee of Tk100 in government hospitals for NS-1 antigen test for dengue patients. Besides, the private hospital has been asked to charge Tk300. This will be effective from now onwards.”
Earlier, dengue tests were free in government hospitals while private hospitals used to charge between Tk600-Tk1,200.
Government hospitals will now charge Tk100 for NS-1 test, Tk250 for CBC test and Tk250 for IGM.
