Health officials on Wednesday reported 550 new dengue cases across the country in the past 24 hours.
According to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement, six patients were hospitalized in the Barisal division, 102 in the Chittagong division, 215 in Dhaka division, 84 in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) areas, 49 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 38 in the Khulna division, 45 in the Mymensingh division, eight in the Rangpur division, and three in the Sylhet division.
With the latest figures, the country has so far recorded 31,380 dengue cases and 88 deaths this year.
Last year, dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 102,861 people across the country.
In 2024, the mosquito-borne disease caused 575 deaths and infected 101,214 people in Bangladesh.
