Air passengers suffer as Biman's website goes down

Air passengers had to face problems purchasing tickets as the website of Biman Bangladesh Airlines was down all day on Friday.

Talking with Dhaka Tribune, Biman MD and CEO Zahid Hossain said that he has instructed the IT department  to resume the website soon in order to resolve the problem for the passengers.

Norul Hoque, a Barisal-bound passenger,  was planning to purchase tickets from Biman Bangladesh Airline's website using his phone on Friday. He tried to buy tickets online, but could not, due to the website being down.

Like Norul, other passengers suffered as the website of the national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines was down all day.

However, the IT officials could not provide any explanation for the issue. But the national flag carrier's chief suggested it might be a space storage issue.

Meanwhile, General Manager of IT at Biman, Anwarul Hoque, could not say how long the website has been down. He claimed that there are server space issues but he did not figure out the technical errors properly.
