Prof Kazi Saifuddin has been appointed as the first vice chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) in Pirojpur.
The information was disclosed in a notification of the Science and Technology University Branch of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education on Sunday.
Deputy Secretary Rokshana Begum signed the notification as per the direction of the president. The notification states that the term of appointment of the vice-chancellor will be four years from the date of joining.
Professor Dr Kazi Saifuddin is currently working in the Department of Psychology at Jagannath University.
The university was established after a bill was published in the parliament on March 29, 2022.
