Former advisor to caretaker govt Akbar Ali Khan dies

Eminent economist and former adviser to a caretaker government Akbar Ali Khan has died at the age of 78.

A freedom fighter and changemaker, Akbar Ali Khan died from a heart attack at United Hospital in the capital at around 10pm on Thursday, doctors said.

He was taken to the hospital in the evening after he fell ill at his residence. 

Akbar Ali was one of the most prominent faces of public service in Bangladesh who served different organizations, including the Water Resources Ministry, Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre, Finance Division, Cabinet Division and World Bank.

He also authored some books including Porarthoporotar Orthoniti and Ajob o Jobor-Ajob Orthoniti.
