Bida signs 3 MoUs to train entrepreneurs

Bida executive chairman urges financial institutions to offer low-cost formal finance for entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurship Bangladesh Ltd and beneficiaries of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (Bida), signed three Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with three prominent training institutes and SME platforms on Tuesday.

Entrepreneurship Bangladesh Ltd, formed to organize and lead the recently completed Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Project (ESDP) beneficiaries of Bida, decided to establish a consortium to provide a 360-degree solution for existing and emerging entrepreneurs, according to a media statement.

In presence of Bida executive chairman Md Sirazul Islam, Entrepreneurship Bangladesh Ltd Managing Director Shamsul Arefeen signed the MoUs with the CEO of Creative IIT Monir Hossain, Co-founder of Buy Now Shamima Islam Tusty and Team Leader of UTTARON Md Quamruzzaman.

Alongside skill development, capacity building and mentoring, this consortium will also provide digital marketing, legal service and financial inclusion to start a new business to thousands of entrepreneurs across the country.

Md Sirazul Islam, executive chairman of Bida, said: “Banks and other financial institutions should come forward to offer low-cost formal finance with easier terms and conditions for entrepreneurs.”

Bida Executive Member Mohsina Yasmin and Director AKM Hafizullah Khan were present among others in the ceremony.
