Power disconnected at 9 Bogra stores for keeping them open after 8pm

A mobile court has fined and disconnected electricity of nine stores in Bogra’s Adamdighi upazila for keeping them open after 8pm, defying the government order.

The mobile court led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sraboni Roy fined them Tk1,800 in total on Sunday night.

On June 17, the government ordered shopkeepers and businessmen to close shops, shopping malls and markets by 8pm every day, to save electricity and energy, amid rising prices worldwide.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed to take necessary steps to save electricity and energy under Bangladesh Labor Act, 2006.
