Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with her younger sister Sheikh Rehana.
She paid homage to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths on his grave, in Tungipara of Gopalganj, around 11am on Friday.
Earlier, the prime minister reached Muksudpur in Gopalganj at 9:50am and reached Gopalganj Sadar at 10:30am after crossing the Padma Bridge by road on a family visit.
General secretary of Tungipara upazila Awami League Babul Sheikh said that after paying respects at Bangabandhu's tomb, the prime minister will hold a discussion meeting with the leaders and workers at the party office in Tungipara.
