Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (Bajus) has decided to increase the price of gold in the country's market again by Tk1,983.
With the latest update, the price of gold increased four times in a span of 10 days.
As a result, the price of good quality gold will stand at Tk84,331, which was earlier Tk82,347, reports Bangla Tribune.
The matter was confirmed in a press release, signed by MA Hannan Azad, chairman of the Bajus Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee, on Sunday.
Gold will be bought and sold across the country according to the new price from Monday.
Bajus said that the new price has been fixed in view of the increase in prices in the local market.
According to the new decision of Bajus, 22-carat gold will cost Tk84,331, 21-carat will cost Tk80,482 and 18-carat gold will be Tk68,993.
Besides, the price of traditional gold was increased to Tk56,979.
Meanwhile, the price of silver was kept unchanged.
The price of 22-carat silver has been fixed at Tk1,516, 21-carat silver is Tk1,435, 18-carat is Tk1,225 and traditional silver is Tk933.
