A trawler has sunk in Bagerhat's Morrelganj upazila carrying goods worth nearly Tk1 crore.
The trawler named MV Baleshwar capsized soon after anchoring near Sannyasi Bazar in Morrelganj upazila on Wednesday morning.
Santu Majhi, manager of the trawler confirmed this information to Dhaka Tribune and said: "The trawler left Khulna's Barabazar for Kaukhali in the wee hours of Wednesday and reached Sannyasi Bazar around 9am. The trawler had refrigerators, diesel, rice, pulses, sugar and grocery worth about crores of taka.”
Anup Kumar, sub-inspector (SI) of Sannyasi Bazar police outpost said: “The trawler tilted to one side and sank slowly. However, there were no reports of injuries. Work to rescue goods is going on.”
