A journalist has filed a general diary (GD) against the widely discussed artist Ashraful Alom aka Hero Alam for allegedly threatening him in Bogra.
The journalist named Emdadul Haque filed the GD with Nandigram police on Sunday, Nandigram police station OC Anwar Hossain confirmed.
He said necessary legal measures will be taken subject to investigation.
Emdadul mentioned in GD that he works as a district representative in a daily newspaper – Daily Choukos and online newspaper Dainik Alorpoth.
On July 27, a report titled “Nusrat warned Hero Alam for the last time” was published.
On that day at 5:03pm and 5:06pm, Hero Alam called Emdadul and abused him using profanity and asked him to delete the report.
He further threatened Emdadul and said: “Otherwise, I will make trouble.”
Emdadul made a general diary in Nandigram police station on July 30 in this regard for his security.
Emdadul said that he collected information from Hero Alam's ex-wife Nusrat Jahan's Facebook ID.
When Emdadul called Hero Alam before sending the report, he did not pick up. At that time he was probably in the DB office in Dhaka.
Hero Alam later called him to threaten and abuse him in vulgar language as Emdadul reported the news without taking his statement.
However, he filed a GD against Hero Alam at the police station after feeling insecure.
Nandigram police station OC Anwar Hossain said that Emdadul’s GD was accepted.
Hero Alam was called on Sunday afternoon for a statement in this regard. He hung up after realizing he received a call from a journalist.
He did not receive the call after that, so his statement was not available.
