Gold prices increase again

Prices effective from Friday

Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (Bajus) has decided to increase the price of gold in the country's market by Tk2,741. 

As a result, the price of good quality gold will stand at Tk81,298, which was earlier Tk78,557, reports Bangla Tribune.

The matter was confirmed in a press release, signed by MA Hannan Azad, chairman of the Bajus Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee, on Thursday. 

Gold will be bought and sold across Bangladesh according to the new price from Friday.

According to the new decision of Bajus, 22-carat gold will cost Tk81,298, 21-carat will cost Tk77,567, and 18-carat gold will be Tk66,848. 

The price of traditional gold is Tk55,170, which was previously set at Tk52,721.

Meanwhile, the price of silver was kept unchanged. 

The price of 22-carat silver has been fixed at Tk1,516, 21-carat silver is Tk1,435, 18-carat is Tk1,225 and traditional silver is Tk933.
