Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi along with some cultural organizations have announced a three-day nationwide program from July 29 to 31 against the ongoing communal violence and continued humiliation of teachers in the country.

The leaders of the organizations agreed on the announcement of this program in a discussion meeting held at Udichi’s central office on Monday, says a press release.

According to Udichi, protest cultural gatherings will be organized at every district and upazila level on July 29 and 30, and memorandums will be handed out to the home minister and district commissioners in each district on July 31.

A protest cultural rally, oath taking and march program will also be held centrally on July 29.

In the exchange meeting, the leaders of the cultural organizations said that, for a long time, the homes, business establishments, religious places of worship of the Hindu community have been attacked, looted and set on fire in different parts of the country by raising false accusations of insulting religion through social media.

In almost every case, the criminals use the same tactics, but the police and the administration have repeatedly failed to stop them, they added.

The leaders mentioned that, not only the torture of Hindus or tribal people, but also the incidents of teachers being abused and harassed have increased at an alarming rate in the last few years.

The general public should be made aware and encouraged to act against this bad culture of injustice, they observed.
