Jet fuel price increased by Tk19 per litre

Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation chairman attributes price hike to Russia-Ukraine war

Update : 14 Jul 2022, 03:15 PM

The Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) has increased the price of jet fuel by Tk19 per litre.

The increased price came into effect on July 9.

It is the sixth time since February that the BPC has increased the price of jet fuel.

Due to the Russia-Ukraine war, the prices of all types of fuel on the international market have seen an upward trend over the last few months.

The BPC adjusts the price of jet fuel in line with the international market every three months.

According to the BPC, the price of jet fuel was last increased by Tk5 to Tk111 taka per litre on June 10.

ABM Azad, chairman of the BPC, attributed the Russia-Ukraine war for the price hike.

The BPC would decrease the price of jet fuel if it went down on the international market, he added.
