When many people are returning home for Eid holidays, professional and seasonal butchers from the Northern part of the country are flocking to Dhaka.

Besides buses and trains, many butchers are coming to Dhaka by plane.

For three to four days of Eid, they will stay in Dhaka and slaughter sacrificial animals and cut meat in different areas.

Tofail Ahmed Jewel, a ticket seller of Biman Airlines in Dinajpur, told Bangla Tribune that about 15 to 20 butchers have taken Biman tickets from him while many have asked for a return ticket as well.

Before leaving for Dhaka, they made an agreement with the buyers on the price of slaughtering animals and cutting meat.

According to the local butchers, this time the rate for slaughtering animals and cutting meat has been fixed at Tk250 per thousand price of the animal.

In other words, if the animal is worth Tk10,000, the butchers have to be paid Tk2,500.

At the same time, the buyers of the animals have to make arrangements for the butchers' accommodation and food.

Butchers from different parts of the country come to Dhaka every year due to their rising demand, marking Eid-ul-Azha.

Eid-ul-Azha, one of the religious festivals of Muslims, will be celebrated in the country on Sunday.

From the morning, devout Muslims will sacrifice animals in the hope of gaining the satisfaction of the creator.
