The University Grants Commission (UGC) has said that they will increase proper monitoring and will take action if anyone was involved over irregularities in spending budget expenditure.
The university apex body warned public university authorities at a seminar on raising awareness to prevent corruption, organized by UGC on Wednesday.
UGC Chairman (in-charge) Prof Dil Afroza Begum said the monitoring system will boost to check for corruption and irregularities in the budget for university management, research and infrastructure development.
"The commission will also monitor whether there is any irregularity or corruption in the expenditure of the budget of Tk10,000 crore in the next 2022-23 financial year," she added.
However, Prof Dil Afroza mentioned that the commission will take action subject to investigation if it finds any allegations of irregularities or corruption against anyone,
She urged the government to recruit manpower through hiring and firing system to prevent corruption.
In addition to enforcing the law to prevent corruption, she suggested all to be honest in personal and job life.
