Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday released commemorative postage stamp, souvenir sheets and opening day cover to mark the opening of the country’s largest bridge — Padma Bridge — over the Padma River.
“Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled a postage stamp of Tk10, a first day cover of Tk10, four souvenir sheets of Tk50 each and a data card of Tk5,” Public Relations Officer of the Posts and Telecommunications Division M Shefyaet Hossain told BSS.
The premier unveiled the postage stamp, the first day cover, the souvenir sheets and the data card using a special canceller at the opening ceremony of the country’s biggest self-financed mega project which is expected to boost GDP by 1.2 to 2%.

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar, Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division Md Khalilur Rahman and Director General of the Directorate of Posts Md Faizul Azim were present on the occasion, among others.
Shefyaet said the postage stamp, the first day cover, the souvenir sheets and the data card will be available at Philatelic Bureau of Dhaka GPO and later at other GPOs and head post offices across the country.
