Freedom Fighter status of 17 people revoked

The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs issues a notification in this regard

The government has canceled certificates of 17 more Freedom Fighters as they failed to prove their participation in the Liberation War in the appeal.

As per the decision of the 78th meeting of the National Freedom Fighter Council (Jamuka), a gazette was issued on Tuesday canceling the certificates of 17 people. 

Earlier, a notification was issued by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs in this regard.

Those who lost their certificates include Md A Baten Munshi, KH Nazir Ahmed Muktar, and Md A Qadir Mandal from Sreepur upazila of Gazipur; Mofazzal Hossain, Matiur Rahman, and Md Nurul Haque from Gazipur Sadar; Jamir Ali, Md Sultan Uddin, Md Rehan Uddin from Kapasia upazila of Gazipur.

Besides, Md Abu Bakr Siddique from Karimgonj upazila in Kishoreganj, Nurul Haque from Belabo upazila in Narsingdi, Kamrul Hossain Mollah and Mezbah Uddin Sikder from Palash upazila in Narsingdi, Md Harun Mia from Monohardi upazila in Narsingdi, and Md Sirajul Islam Khan's from Habiganj’s Nabiganj upazila also lost their Freedom Fighter certificates.
