A worker died in an accident while working inside the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Pabna’s Ishwardi on Thursday night.
The deceased was identified as Anwar Hossain, 30, resident of Moslempur village in Bahirchar union of Bheramara upazila in Kushtia district.
He was working as a laborer for a contractor company named “Scheme Company”.
The accident occurred when a DB box (distribution box) suddenly fell on Anwar as he was working in the furnace of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, leaving him seriously injured.
Later, he was taken to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
The body was handed over to his family from police custody after autopsy, confirmed Sub-Inspector (SI) Atiqul Islam, in-charge of Rooppur police outpost.
