Showers likely in parts of Bangladesh in 24 hours

Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, reports BMD

Showers with lightning flashes are likely to persist over the country in 24 hours commencing 9am on Monday, says the Met Office.

“Rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Barisal divisions,” said a bulletin of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country. Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, it added.

The maximum rainfall in the country was recorded at 50mm at Chittagong in 24 hours until 9am on Monday.

Meanwhile, the trough of Low extended from Bihar to North Bay across West Bengal and the southern part of Bangladesh persists.
