Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Chairman and Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque has said the committee has recommended the Cabinet extend the Eid-ul-Azha holidays by one day and begin them on June 27 instead of June 28.
The minister was speaking to journalists after a committee meeting on Tuesday.
He said strict orders had been issued to ensure no sacrificial cattle markets were set up on roads ahead of the Muslim festival.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan was also present at the meeting.
