A mild cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Naogaon and Panchagarh, which may subside. Night and day temperatures may rise slightly over the country, the met office said in a 24-hour weather forecast.

It also forecast moderate to thick fog at places over river basins and light to moderate fog elsewhere from late night till Sunday morning.

The weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies over the country, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said.

Besides, the met office also issued an alert saying the depression over southwest Bay and adjoining areas moved west-northwestwards and lay over the same area at 6am on Saturday.

It is likely to move west-southwestwards afterwards, the BMD said, asking all fishing boats and trawlers over north Bay and deep sea not to venture into the depression area.

The country's highest temperature on Friday was recorded at 30.4 degrees Celsius in Teknaf and Saturday's lowest temperature was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius in Badalgachi.

The sun sets at 5:17pm on Saturday and rises at 6:38am on Sunday in the capital.
