
DMP Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia has said religion cannot be established in the country through murders and carrying out blasts.
He made the statement while addressing a programme at DMP Headquarters in the capital on Wednesday morning.
He said the claims of Ansar Al Islam regarding the recent killings in Bangladesh are doubtful.
The DMP commissioner continued that: “No one can establish religion by committing murders and carrying out blasts.”
Talking about the murder of LGBT activists, he said: “We have found a lot of important evidence and clues, but we cannot disclose them right now for the sake of investigation.”
Replying to a query, he said: “The papers recovered from the bag dropped by the killers of Kalabagan double murder were written in Arabic but they could have kept those to mislead people.
“We are also investigating to find out if there is any militant link in the murder.”
He also urged all to resist those who commit crimes in the name of religion.
