SSC exams to begin on September 15, HSC in November

SSC exam will be held in the middle of September due to the possibility of flooding in August

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said that the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will start on September 15, while the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will start in November.

The minister made the announcement while addressing a press conference on Sunday.

The minister said: "The HSC exams usually start after two months of SSC exams. But considering the overall situation this year, the HSC exams will start one and a half months after the SSC exams."

She said the government decided to start the SSC examinations in the middle of September as there is a possibility of flooding in August.

An updated exam routine will be published soon, she added. 

She further said that new textbooks will be delivered to the students in the flood-hit areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj by July 24.

 A total of 102,500 textbooks would be distributed among the students of the Sylhet and Sunamgonj area.

A total of  2,021,006 students are taking part in this year's SSC and equivalent examination.
